MIC PLANNER / PACK SHARING
Open the planner

Six packs.
Twelve performers.
No impossible swaps.

Mic Planner works out who wears which wireless pack, scene by scene. It shares packs across the cast, refuses swaps that don't have time to happen, and prints the paperwork your deck crew actually uses: scene sheet, swap sheet, performer cards.

How it works

Enter the show. Get the plot.

1

List scenes and speakers

Scenes in order, performers with the scenes they speak in, and how many packs and mic elements you own. Or skip the typing: import your cast list as a CSV — double-cast shows import each cast as its own plan. Mark intermissions — swaps are easy when the house lights are up.

2

It assigns the packs

Leads get priority, then featured roles, then ensemble. A pack only passes between performers when there's a real buffer — no "swap during the blackout" fantasies. Anyone who can't be covered is flagged, not silently dropped.

3

Pin, adjust, print

Click a name to pin it to a specific pack — if your pin creates an impossible swap, it turns red and tells you why. Then print the scene sheet, swap sheet, and performer cards, or export the whole plan as a file.

The paperwork

Sheets your A2 will tape to the road case

Every scene: who's live and on what pack number. Every swap: who hands off to whom, where, and whether the pack needs re-taping. Print-friendly, high-contrast, readable by headlamp.

Scene sheet: per-scene roster of live mics with pack numbers
Scene sheet — the per-scene live-mic roster for the mix position.
Swap sheet: every pack handoff with checkboxes for the deck crew
Swap sheet — every handoff as a checklist for backstage.

Straight answers

Questions a sound tech would ask

Where does my show data live?
In your browser, on your machine. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. Export gives you a plain file you can back up, email, or open on another computer.
Does it do RF coordination?
No. This plans who wears what, when — the human side. Keep using your coordination tool for frequencies.
What if the plan doesn't work for my show?
Pin performers to packs and it re-plans around your pins. If a pin creates a swap that can't physically happen, it shows you exactly why instead of pretending it's fine.
Will it work at the theatre with no wifi?
Yes. Once the page has loaded it runs entirely offline, and the license key validates without a server.
